Success isn’t a personal best, a Kona slot or a ripped body.
It’s waking up early and training because you said you would.
It’s preparing and eating a healthy meal at home when you’d rather drive through McDonald’s and eat while watching Netflix.
It’s working with your coach to structure your training, then figuring out how to execute when life throws you curveballs or injuries come your way.
Our lives become the patterns we condition. Except enjoying success isn’t the pattern you need to reinforce.
Instead, you must train yourself to love the training, the preparation. The boring stuff that doesn’t feel particularly exciting and often leaves you feeling utterly shagged.
It’s not reaching the finish line or slaying the dragon, but putting one foot in front of the other, day after day – for years!
If you can learn to love this process, then success will come to you, but it won’t matter so much.
What you’ll enjoy aren’t the rewards, but becoming a better version of yourself. When mastery becomes your motivation, you’ll have already reached your destination.
